Coming from a small atoll in Kiribati and arriving at AUT in
Auckland, New Zealand was a bit of a shock for Rose.
“I was uncomfortable at first, but I wanted to fulfil why I came here, Rose Iataake King
so I just do my best. The support I received from AUT student services Bachelor of Engineering Technology
and my lecturers was key.” in Computer and Mobile Systems
Rose came to AUT after being awarded the New Zealand Pacific Scholarship, Engineering student
encouraged to apply by her parents. She looks forward to bringing the skills
and knowledge she has gained back to Kiribati.
“AUT helps me develop skills that are relevant in the industry I want to be
involved in, and I know these skills will help me when I finish my degree and go
back to Kiribati. I will be able to develop something to improve my community.”
