Coming to AUT on a New Zealand Pacific Scholarship
from Samoa has been a big change of environment for
Jeremiah. It’s been hard for him being away from home, but he
has received a lot of support.
“There is so much support here at AUT, from the Pacific services and
the lecturers, as well as from the other people in my class. I know my Jeremiah Tauiliili
family is praying for me back home, so that helps me a lot too.”

As a child Jeremiah was always trying to fix things, so pursuing a Bachelor Technology in Mechanical
of Engineering Technology was a natural extension for his fascination with Engineering
how things work.
His goal is to put his degree to good use in Samoa.
“I want to bring my degree back home to my family. I know being here at AUT
is a rare opportunity, so when I finish my degree I want to help our community
develop in Samoa, to improve our infrastructure and our way of living.”
